‘Linguistic status of Quebec French’ topic for talk at UIUC November 3
Brown bag lunch discussion set for November 4
URBANA—Julie Auger, Associate Professor of French Linguistics and Linguistics Department of French and Italian at Indiana University, will give a lecture entitled, “Languages without an army? The linguistic status of Quebec French and Picard," on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4-5 p.m. in Room G-17 of the Foreign Languages Building (FLB), 707 S. Mathews Ave., on the U. of I. campus.
The talk, part of the U. of I. Department of Linguistics Speaker Series, is free and open to the public.
Professor Auger also will participate in a brown bag round table discussion on Friday, Nov. 4, in Room 2090B in FLB, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Auger will be joined in the discussion by Joe Price and Nathan Owens of the U. of I. Department of French. The U. of I. Department of French will provide drinks. Attendees should bring their own lunch. The brown bag lunch also is open to the public.
