“Freud in Space” topic for lecture
March 8 by U. of I. professor

URBANA—Robert Rushing, assistant professor of comparative and world literature at the University of Illinois, will give lecture entitled, “Freud in Space: The Future of Psychoanalysis,” on Wednesday, March 8, at 5 p.m., in Lucy Ellis Lounge, 1080 Foreign Languages Building, 707 S. Mathews Ave., Urbana, on the U. of I. campus.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

In his talk, Rushing will explore what happens when the Freudian unconscious returns to science fiction, and ask: Is there psychoanalysis in the future? Is there a future for psychoanalysis?

Rushing received a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1998.
The lecture is sponsored by the Program in Comparative and World Literature.
